What we keep, and for how long.
A volunteer group needs very little data and we would rather not hold any of it longer than necessary.
Request form data
Name, email, country, dates, group size, language and what you told us you are interested in. A request is never stored in a database — it becomes an email to a shared mailbox, read by the coordinators and the greeter matched to you. Nothing is sold and nothing is used for advertising.
Review submissions
Your display name, country, month of your walk and your words are published if approved. Your email address is used only to verify the submission and is never shown on the site.
Photo consent
Photographs of greeters appear only where that greeter has agreed, and a greeter’s name appears in a review only where they have agreed to that too. Ask and we remove an image, no reason needed.
Retention
Request emails are deleted once the walk has happened and there is no longer a reason to keep them. Approved reviews stay published until you ask us to remove them, which you can do at any time.
